Fluoropolymers are high
performing polymers characterized by numerous strong carbon-fluorine
bonds. They were accidentally discovered in 1938, and since then have
been extensively used in various industrial and commercial applications.
They have many superior properties such as versatility and high
chemical resistance. PTFE, PVF, PVDF, ETFE, PFA, and PCTFE are the
major types of fluoropolymer. Their major end-users include the
Chemical, Electronics, and Automotive industries. In the Healthcare
industry, fluoropolymers are used in both traditional and advanced
applications, such as packaging of medical liquids and sprays. Covered
in this Report.
